Not much to say. It’s a map editor!
The readme says it has the ability to create single player, skirmish and multiplayer maps (I don’t really see why they need to differentiate between skirmish and multiplayer), but that the game itself doesn’t have support for running custom single player maps. Wow, that’s great, EA! Give us more stuff like this, please. -_-

Patch notes:

Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars(tm)
Version 1.04 Patch Notes - April 5, 2007
==================================================================
This patch for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars addresses video
playback issues and several multiplayer problems:
Optimizations
- Made further improvements to video playback on low-end Windows
XP system configurations.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an error that caused some players to crash or disconnect
while in online lobbies.
- Fixed an error that caused players with semicolon (';'),
colon (':'), comma (','), or equal sign ('=') characters in
their Online IDs to not be able to see and select options from
dropdown menus in online multiplayer lobbies. These characters
are no longer permissible in Online IDs.
- Fixed an error that caused players to desync when watching a
BattleCast match in which one of the participants disconnected.
Other Fixes
- All online multiplayer game lobbies will now appear proper
localized in different languages.

It weighs in at a little less than 13 megs if your version is up to date. Hopeful this won’t kill off EA online. Enjoy!

Looks like EA are close to finishing the last of the bugfix patches (1.04) that’s going to address, among other things, the desync issue you will experience if you watch a battlecast matches (I figure this is what we mortals refer to as ‘replays’) and some other apparently minor stuff.
Also, apart from the client side issues EA is working on speeding up stats updates for all you serious players. Once EA gets everything straight, they will be starting tournaments with seasons and prices etc.
Read all about on on the Command & Conquer forums!
In other news, C&C3 is topping the sales charts in the UK! No numbers are presented though.

Our friends over at Gamespot have gotten a hold of Tricia Helfer and Grace Park for an interview. They talk about their thoughts and experiences on the set of Command & Conquer 3. If you love the game, this is definite something you want to read!

Every Monday night from “Midnight - 12: 30AM PST” (that’s 00:00 - 00:30 for everyone else) the servers will be down for maintenance. Thirty minutes isn’t a whole lot considering Blizzard does the same thing in six hours (minimum).
For Europeans this is a scheduled maintenance at 08:00 - 08:30 GMT on Tuesday mornings I believe. Adapt as necessary.
Read it straight from your EA overlords at the C&C forums.

It seems the C&C3 online madness is still keeping up at EA HQ. Not only that, but it’s been reported that other games are affected as well, leaving many people ’stranded’ offline. And it’s very random too! Just a couple of hours ago I could play online, no problem, while a friend of mine on the same ISP couldn’t connect at all.
I’m leaving you with a picture that will get a few smirks out of some of you (the secret is in the text).

Well no, not real. It’s Monday afternoon and the apocapse is nowhere in sight. But it’s a catching title, don’t you think?
Anyway, after rolling out their third patch (46 megs…) and gracious having their service up long enough to play a game, the EA/Gamespy C&C3 online network is DOWN. I can’t connect, and it seems more people are experiencing this.
Straight from the horses mouth:
We are already working on a 1.04 patch to address the last few remaining technical issues and we are working very hard on the ISP issues that have been affecting the game servers and message board servers this morning. All in all, we're working through the weekend to get everything going smooth.
Assuming a slight time shift, since the weekend has already passed in normal time, 1.04 should hit… well, any time I guess. But this being EA’s show, we cannot be sure. However, I hope they do fix the server issues by then.

The third patch to be released in a short time by EA is set to fix random lobby disconnects/game freezes and some other thing I haven’t personal experienced.
From the readme:
This patch for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars fixes two
problems pertaining to online multiplayer:
Bug Fixes
Fixed an error that caused players to experience unexpected
disconnections and freezes while in online lobbies and
Automatch search.
Fixed an error that prevented players in online lobbies
from chatting global after sending private messages to
other players.
So let’s all hope this REAL annoying bug is fixed. As I recall this was slated for a 1.02 release, but apparent that didn’t happen.

While doing some random surfing today I found this little gem over at Wonderland.
It’s been a while since I was interested in the case modding stuff, but I do know that right now I’m interested in the Command & Conquer universe… and wow, this is just awesome!

– WALL OF TEXT ALERT! –
Well, I’ve been playing the game for a couple of hours now, finished both Nod and GDI campaigns. Depending on how you play the game may take a very long time to finish, but apparent not so for me.
I’m main playing to see the new videos, so losing out on the singleplayer gameplay isn’t a very big deal. I still read the briefings and objectives, of course, but ingame I tend to steamroll everything just so I can get to the next video. So how are the videos?
For the most part, they’re good. Both gameplay and videos are significant better for Nod though, but then again they have flame tanks, obelisks and Kane. You just can’t lose with a combo like that!
