I had a nice little surprise waiting for me when I got home today. 34g in herb sales. Stuff left over from before BC, the odd [Fadeleaf] (75s each), [Dreamfoil] (1g each) and a couple of [Gromsblood] (1-2g! each). From the looks of it I can sell [Goldthorn] for around 10g per stack too, which is WAY above the pre-BC market. It seems the prices haven’t quite settled yet, but the outlook is anything but bad… I don’t expect they’ll keep rising at this pace, but if people are as lazy and unmotivated as I think they are, herbalists will have a very easy time earning cash in the future. Not only because the prices are so high, in line with the average gold per hour of a BC player, but also because Azeroth is empty save for the odd player trying to level his/her draenei or belf.
Various kinds of stones gathered from mining can be sold with relative ease as well, but not at any significantly altered prices, in fact I dare say the lower level stones sell for alot less now than they did just three months ago. This is of course to be expected with everyone and their grandmother getting a jewel crafter.
As for jewel crafting, I found that the low level rings (pre-20 stuff) disenchant REALLY well. I had a large amount of pretty crappy rings that I burned and got ~5 [Strange Dust] each, and they sell for up to 10s each on my server, depending on day and time of day.
Now that’s pretty much all I’ve TRIED selling (with any level of price variation) as of late. Right now I do the odd fishing session (the cooked BC fish vendors for alot more than uncooked!) while watching TV in preparation for C&C3.
Please note that this is all on my server, prices may vary ALOT on your server, but I believe the general state of things should be more or less the same.

I am happy to report that as of 2007-03-02 the observed market prices for Fadeleaf have returned to their pre-BC levels, which makes my first post, the SM farming guide, alot more attractive.
Also, given a median price of 70s per fadeleaf that adds between 2.1g-3g to the total profits of that run. Love! Auction house screenshot included.

I know alot of you out there are struggling with your gold farming techniques, or you simp don’t have the energy to actual get any farming done. This will probably not strike any of you BC players as very awesome, but for a pre BC player it’s definitely one of the best ways to gain cash, and can be done with very little effort. It’s in a little place we all know and love. Scarlet Monastery.
Now, before you go “Bah, farming Scarlet Monastery sucks”, I know it does. Normally anyway.
Doing Scarlet Monastery the “normal” way means either doing bosses or just clearing the place out totally. If you’re good that will net you around 10g per hour, possibly 12g if you’re quick about it. That’s why SM farming isn’t good.
Around here we don’t want the mobs, their drops simply suck. To the point where it’s almost ridiculous. However, Scarlet Monastery is littered with chests, all easily accessible for any class at level 60 and they have a very high chance to contain a blue. If we go for chests alone, we’re up at 20-25g per hour, easily.
To get to all the chests you will need to do some killing, but it’s relatively few kills and it should be done pretty quickly. If you’re an enchanter, so much the better!
Herbalists can also get something from going here, but I should point out that since BC was released, the herb prices in the range you get here has dropped significantly. For the most part you’ll be picking up [Fadeleaf], [Grave Moss] and possibly [Goldthorn]. At least that’s what was valuable in the past. Before BC these herbs would always sell, and would sell at a very nice price. 10-15g per stack for [Fadeleaf] alone. I’m not up to date with the herb prices anymore, but on my server I would be making 35-40g per hour in total counting the herbs. And since this is a low level instance, it’s essentially risk free!
That takes care of the introduction to this whole thing.
Let’s get going!
The Graveyard
I start with this simply because it’s on the far side. And left seems logical. If you don’t have the key for the other instances you should start out with the Library. (The actual order doesn’t matter, the important thing is keeping track of where you’ve been.)
Walk down the stairs to the first room, standing in the doorway you should see two things. Straight ahead is what you came for, the first chest. And you should also see the patrolling mob, there’s one in this room.
Looking right we see Interrogator Vishas, a boss of sorts. He has a chance to drop a blue or [Bloody Brass Knuckles] worth about 40s. It’s up to you if you want to kill him.
The chest itself is guarded by four mobs, a combination of Scarlet Torturer and Scarlet Scryer. The torturers have 3200 HP and the scryers have 2600, very simple mobs which you have to kill in order to loot the chest.
Loot from the first room: [Bloody Brass Knuckles], [Insignia Leggings], nothing to write home about.
Proceeding out from this room to the graveyard. Once outside, check the right and left side as there’s normally a chest here. If there isn’t, don’t worry… it’s just inside the crypt instead.
There’s also a chance for three rare mobs to spawn in the graveyard, Ironspine, Fallen Champion and Azshir the Sleepless. Keep an eye out!
Loot from the graveyard: 3x[Grave Moss]
Inside the crypt… here you may or may not be able to sneak past the roamers and stationary mobs. In either case they’re easy to kill!
Going downstairs, turning right and then right again and down another set of stairs we find the missing chest just around the corner to the left! Any mobs in the room will have to be killed before opening the chest as they will aggro anyway. Now there’s an option to either leave and proceed to the next instance or go down the final flight of stairs to kill Bloodmage Thalnos.
Loot from the crypt: [Archer's Longbow], [Orb of the Forgotten Seer], [Iron Lockbox]
That’s it, we’re done in the Graveyard.
The Armory
Proceeding inside, the first two guys guarding the doorway have to go. They will aggro you unless you can stealth past them. In the open area is a chest spawn point, and ALWAYS a [Fadeleaf] node. Jump over the low wall, avoiding aggro.
Opening the chest here will draw aggro from the nearby soldiers, two at the most. There’s also a guy patrolling who can be easi avoided.
Loot from the open area: 3x[Fadeleaf], [Regal Sash of the Eagle], 2x[Mana Potion] and some lowbie herbs.
Should the chest not be in the open area, proceed downstairs into the actual armory.
Avoiding aggro is a relative simple thing. There’s a guy patrolling, a group of mobs straight ahead while coming down the stairs and a group to the right. Walk between these two groups to the north east, but don’t walk past the first gate. Instead stand by the barrels and walk south east, again avoiding aggro from the nearby group. You should arrive direct at the chest, which is being guarded by two mobs. Remember, these guys run, so kill them before they get the chance to find help.
Loot from the armory: Nothing, I found the chest in the open area.
That’s it for the Armory!
The Library
This is a tiny bit more complicated than the other two instances. The first corridor is littered with mobs and sometimes they will aggro, sometimes not. It is possible to avoid most of them though. Do what you must and proceed to the open area. Jump up on the low wall and drop down behind it for a fresh fadeleaf node. The mobs in this open area move around considerab more than the ones in the armory, but they’re easier to kill in case you should get aggro.
In the room to the south we have Houndmaster Loksey and his trained mutts. There’s a good chance his loot will be worthless, but he might drop blues.
Loot from open area+houndmaster: 1x[Fadeleaf], [Loksey's Training Stick]
Now proceed east, indoors once more. Jump on the low walls if necessary to avoid aggro.
Once inside we see two mobs paired up in our path towards the next chest. They will aggro if you can’t stealth past, so either kill them or stealth past. The next chest is in the room direct to the left at the end of the corridor, guarded by three mobs and a roamer.
Drops: [Sequoia Hammer] (of the Monkey)
Now cross the hall and go north, it’s relative easy to avoid aggro here, as long as you keep your eyes peeled. Turn right when you get to the end and enter the more difficult part. If you’re lucky, the second chest is right here, guarded by a small group of mobs. Mine was.
Loot from the hallway chest: [Recipe: Elixir of Lesser Agility]
Proceeding to the next segment of the hall we’re immediate hindered by two chatty mobs. Beat them up and proceed! If you haven’t found the second chest yet, look left and right as you pass.
Proceed south and beat up the two mobs standing in your way, look out for the roamer and enter the third segment. This is the final place the second chest can spawn in, and incidental it’s also very close to Arcanist Doan who may drop some moderate valuable stuff. If you lack the key to the other instances, this is where you pick it up.
Drops from Doan: [Robe of Doan], [Illusionary Rod]
And that concludes the entire farming run. This is all very, very quick stuff with an excellent chance of getting blue BOEs, some enchanting stuff for the enchanters and a load of herbs for the herbalists.
I ended up getting a grand total of 1.5g in silver alone, a bit more than a full stack of silk, 4 green BOEs+1 BOP and 3 blue BOP. Plus Vishas’ knuckles.
The gray loot sold+knuckles for another gold, the BOPs for a grand total of 4.5g.
Depending on how the sales would play out, the BOEs and herbs could also net a pretty penny. All gathered in a very short amount of time. If you should get your hands on a blue BOE, things get a whole lot more interesting right away!
At this point you can either quit and be happy with your winnings or reset the instance, which was made a whole lot easier recent! Simp right click your character portrait and select “Reset all instances”. Do this while you’re outside the instance.
EDIT: The agility recipe sold for 10g, I vendored the other stuff for a small bit of silver.
