Japanese puzzle game

I have found yet another flash game. :)
The object of this game is to match all the tiles so that their colours match horizontal and vertical. It took me a while to realize the tiles were supposed to be put on the lefthand field, but after that it became very, very interesting. And difficult. I love it!

Blizzard to announce new product

Lately there’s been ALOT of rumours floating around the tubes saying Blizzard will announce StarCraft 2 in South Korea at the WWI (World Wide Invitation) event, but no confirmations. Read the rest of this entry »

Chick chick boom

Another funny flash game! In this one you’re supposed to draw shapes on the screen to execute attacks against the opposing team who is doing the same thing. You have a number of defensive moves, and the same amount of offensive moves.

New Nintendo games dated in Japan

Famitsu; a popular Japanese gaming magazine has pieced these dates together with their own information.

Meaning these dates are speculative, not official. Don’t treat them as anything set in stone.

They are a highly respected magazine in that country and are often given exclusive news bits.
These are the games they have dated in their most recent issue.

July 2007: Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Fuuketsu no Grimoire (NDS, Square Enix)
July 2007: MushiKing Super Collection (Wii, Sega)
July 2007: Wii Health Pack (Wii, Nintendo)
July 2007: Mario Party 8 (Wii, Nintendo)
August 2007: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (NDS, Square Enix)
October 2007: Super Mario Galaxy (Wii, Nintendo)
November 2007: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 (NDS, Nintendo)
November 2007: Dragon Quest IX (NDS, Square Enix)
December 2007: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii/NDS, Sega)
In late 2007: Wii with DVD playback (Nintendo)
2008: Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Capcom)

Once again, to clarify. This is speculation. Months are, of course, pretty broad ranges, so it’s entirely possible that some/most of these turn out correct and I wouldn’t be surprised of they’re at least close. And there you have it. Release dates! ;D

Halo Wars, interview with Graeme Devine

I know there are people just like me out there, looking for every little piece of Halo Wars information you can find. And here’s something new. :D

The interview itself is more about Graeme Devine, the lead designer of Halo Wars, than it is about the game, and he does try to be as secretive as possible. But he does drop a few hints. A few nice ones at that. It looks to me like we’re looking at a game that focuses heavily on tournament style multiplayer, and I’m 99% sure it’ll tie in nicely with the Live-service that’s coming for the PC.

Jack(ass) Thompson on MSNBC

For those of you who are unfamiliar with those guy, he seems to think it’s his calling in life to ban all videogames. And that’s all the introduction he needs.
In this interview, and many before it, he talks about the Virginia Tech shooting that made world news. He’s saying that Cho (the shooter) used Counter-Strike to train for the shooting etc etc. Problem is even Cho’s friends said he hadn’t played it for 5 years and the police didn’t find any such games on his computer. Jack doesn’t care.

Modding a NES to run Unisystem VS arcade games

All I can say is WOW. This guy converts his regular NES into an arcade version so he could train on Super Mario Bros. Now that’s dedication! :)
All in all there are 14 pages with lots of information and plenty of pictures that should make any nerd at least a little wet. And maybe you break out an old NES and start modding it yourself? But you’re gonna need some electronics experience, of course. I love it!

World Builder for Command & Conquer 3 released!

Not much to say. It’s a map editor!
The readme says it has the ability to create single player, skirmish and multiplayer maps (I don’t really see why they need to differentiate between skirmish and multiplayer), but that the game itself doesn’t have support for running custom single player maps. Wow, that’s great, EA! Give us more stuff like this, please. -_-

I am 8 bit

Check out this post over at Destructoid. There might be an article to go with it all, but that’s the important thing… at all. There’s a gallery you simply don’t want to miss out on if you’re a retro geek!
